Outdoor Pavilion Dining By Reservation Only

Outdoor Dining by Reservation Only Available as of June 15th!

Outdoor dining at the Windlass has returned with limited seating. We look forward to serving you; please read the following important information regarding planning your visit with us. The most important change to our operations is that we are a reservation-only establishment and no walk-ins will be permitted. Because our seating is limited, we recommend that you make your reservation well in advance to ensure availability.

At this time we are also taking inquiries for private parties. If you are interested in hosting an event at the Windlass please visit our Private Parties page to fill out our inquiry form.

Availability

Outdoor seating will be open, weather permitting, from 12pm-8:30pm every day except Wednesday (we are closed on Wednesdays) by reservation ONLY.

Reservations

We will be accepting reservations only and will have specific seatings beginning at 12:00pm with the last seating at 830pm. Reservations can ONLY BE MADE VIA PHONE. We will NOT be taking reservations through email, the contact form on our website, or on social media. Reservations are required at this time and no walk-in customers are allowed. A credit card will be required to make your reservation. Guests will not be charged upon making reservations but there will be a $20 cancellation fee per person for “No Shows” or last-minute changes. Please scroll below to view our full Reservation Policy, which will be given to each guest upon making your reservation.

Our reservation lines are manned from 11:30am until 8:30pm. If the line is busy please try again as reservations can ONLY BE MADE VIA PHONE. Walk-in guests are not permitted on site regardless of occupancy. All customers considering visiting us must call ahead to check availability and secure a table.

Capacity

We will be operating at a reduced capacity and will only be able to accommodate parties of 8 or less for outdoor seating. All tables will be spaced at least six feet apart. 

Timing Your Meal

Guests will have an hour and a half to enjoy their dining experience. This will allow an enjoyable dining experience for more guests and allow us the time to properly sanitize contact surfaces between guest seatings.

Masks

The state requires that all guests wear a mask when entering and leaving the restaurant as well as visiting the restrooms. Indoor restrooms will be available to patrons and masks will be required to enter the restaurant to visit the restrooms. Masks are not required while seated at your table.

Menu

Our “All Day Menu” will be available for all seatings as well as take-out.

Pick Up Ordering
Curbside and dockside pick up will still be available daily with designated pick-up areas, along with outdoor dining.

Safety

We will be following the extensive guidance issued by the State of New Jersey. Staff will continue to be screened before each shift and are required to wear masks and gloves and continue to adhere to CDC and ServSafe protocols. All surfaces will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized between seatings.

The Windlass Reservation Policy

Due to state requirements, The Windlass is only able to accommodate so many guests within each seating period in order to ensure that we are adhering to government guidelines. The following policies and procedures have been put in place to ensure the best possible level of safety and service to all our guests.

Reservation Information
  • Guests are required to reserve a table in advance by contacting The Windlass directly at: 973-663-3190 Ext. 1. Online reservations are not available at this time.
  • A valid Credit Card is required upon booking to hold the reservation. No initial fee will be applied at the time of booking. All major credit cards are accepted, including American Express.
  • We do ask that once you have secured a reservation at a particular time that you adhere to that time and remain at your table for the duration of your reservation with the exception of restroom usage.
  • Once a reservation is made you are permitted to enjoy your dining experience at a maximum of one hour and a half from the reservation time. We do not normally ask you to vacate a table, however, guests that exceed the maximum seating time will be respectfully asked to close out their check to accommodate the necessary sanitizing procedures for the succeeding table reservations.
  • Table preferences and requests will be noted in your reservation. However, tables are allocated the day of by the restaurant team and although we will do our best to allocate a table in your preferred area of dining, we cannot always guarantee this.
  • We ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your reservation time, and that you remain in your vehicle or boat until you receive notification (via text) that your table is prepared.
  • We ask that you arrive promptly and ready to be seated once notification has been received.
  • Late arrival after 15 minutes of your reservation time without prior notice, will be considered a “No Show”.
  • Failure to notify us of a cancellation, or any change to the number of guests at least 24 hours prior to your reservation, we reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee of $20 per person. (Please see our detailed Late/No-Show and Cancellation policies below).
  • The Windlass reserves the right to cancel or change your reservation in the event of unforeseen or other circumstances outside The Windlass’ control, including (without limitation) weather conditions, safety and security concerns or decisions from any authority.

Reservation Confirmation: When you make a Reservation at The Windlass, you agree to honor the Reservation by arriving on time and paying for a meal. Reservations are not confirmed until a confirmation notification is sent via email or text. Please note all requirements before you book your Reservation as well as the Reservation confirmation notification. By making a reservation at The Windlass, you agree that all final determinations regarding No Shows and Cancellations will be made by The Windlass in our sole discretion.

Reservation Late/No-Show & Cancellation Policies: The Windlass’ continued viability relies on reservations being honored by our guests, and adequate notice being given of any changes or cancellations. At The Windlass, we understand that occasionally, unforeseen circumstances may prevent you from making your Reservation as initially planned. If you decide not to keep your Reservation, in order to avoid having a cancellation fee associated with your Account, you must cancel the Reservation at least 24 hours in advance by contacting The Windlass directly.

Accordingly, the following policies apply:

Late/No-Show:

  • Unless otherwise stated, we reserve the right to cancel your Reservation if you do not check-in within fifteen (15) minutes after your Reservation time.
  • A cancellation by The Windlass in such a manner, as well as a complete failure to show up for your Reservation, will be considered a “No Show”.
  • No Shows are associated with your Account, and we reserve the right to terminate or suspend your ability to make Reservations in the future if you have an excessive amount of No Shows, as determined in The Windlass’ sole and reasonable discretion.
  • “No shows” may also result in cancellation fees being charged by The Windlass.

Cancellation:

  • We reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee for any reservation that is cancelled, or if numbers are reduced without prior notice.
  • For all reservations, you must notify us of a cancellation or any changes to the number of guests at least 24 hours prior to your reservation.
  • The Windlass reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee of $20 per person for any reservations changed or cancelled within this 24-hour notice period.
  • The cancellation fee reflects the cost incurred by The Windlass in terms of staffing, food, and any lost revenue as a result of turning away other potential reservations.
  • We will notify you if any cancellation fee is applied.
  • Any reservations which fail to turn up without any prior notice (“No Show”), will also incur a $20 per person fee.
  • In the event of cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances, The Windlass is not obliged to find another suitable timeslot for your booking, but we will do our best to reschedule your reservation.
